Tom leads the EarthX technology team that develops and deploys our products. He has led the design and development of 3D visualization software products for NASA, Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems. He specializes in large-scale visualization, producing software that makes extremely large datasets visible and interactive. At Hewlett-Packard he led a team creating a software product to visualize complex mechanical CAD models that could previously never be seen in their entirety. At NASA he led the product development team that conceived of, designed and produced the open-source NASA World Wind virtual globe software, used widely in government, education and business to visualize enormous amounts of temporal data in a 3D geographic context on both desktop and mobile devices. Tom has extensive experience working with customers to define and optimize software products for diverse settings. He has led distributed, cross-functional teams creating software products that are innovative, successful and produced cost-effectively.
